- 320 S. Main Street
Intersection of South Street & Etra Road
Community of Hightstown, New Jersey
Featuring a ˝ brick front, with brick columns (constructed the way things use to be built), aluminum siding & stately wood pillars that surround and support an open & enclosed covered porch. The porch has a country feel that you will enjoy!
As you enter this home, you enter a foyer and then a gorgeous center hall entrance. Make sure to notice the detail on the door to the center hall and the lead glass rectangular window above the first flight of the stained and painted wood staircase, both of which have beveled glass! You can’t help but notice the 10-foot ceilings, 8-foot hardwood doors, and extra large rooms which you will find throughout.
As you tour this lovely home, you will find original woodwork in every room except the Kitchen which was upgraded. The downstairs rooms are magnificent! Starting with the Front Parlor, presently being used as a music room, with custom wood panels, a bay window, chestnut wood pocket doors that span two five-foot thresholds (these work and are gorgeous), antique sconces and an English style hardwood floor.
Next, the Formal Living Room with a magnificent and massive Fieldstone Wood-Burning Fireplace with a stone hearth that is straddled by built-in bookcases, a ceiling fan, more 5-foot chestnut pocket doors, a double glass door with glass door knobs and a transom atop to access the Family Room, more English style hardwood flooring and egg & dart crown molding.
The 17’x17’ Dining Room is another show stopper with more of those chestnut pocket doors, another bay window, a gorgeous wood mantle to an old fireplace that may be able to be reclaimed with a gas insert, more English style hardwood flooring and a stunning crystal chandelier that I am sorry is not included with this home’s purchase.
Before getting to the Kitchen, let’s go to the Sun and Family Rooms, which are two rooms off the Parlor and Living Room which were constructed in the front area of this home’s covered front porch. Here you have a 10’x11’ and another 20’x13’ room which are where your kids will be spending lots of time. The larger room has knotty pine paneling, two ceiling fans, wall-to-wall carpeting, room length & width window walls, built-in cabinets and a decorative gas stove. The second room would make a great office.
The 12’x14’ Kitchen includes upgraded Cabinets, Countertops, Stainless Steel appliances and wood flooring and features plenty of counter space, a decorative fireplace mantle, more egg and dart crown molding, a built-in refrigerator, dishwasher and electric disposal. One of the Half Baths and a Laundry Room are off the Kitchen with a second door from the laundry room to the backyard.
This home has five bedrooms, four on the second floor and one huge one on the third floor. Looking to the street, the front left bedroom is 16’x13’ and has its own bay window. The front right bedroom is 15’x14’ and features a shared half bath with a back bedroom. That back right bedroom is 16’x11’ and has two double door closets. The back left bedroom is 10’x13’. The fifth bedroom is the result of a previous homeowner’s work to finish off half of the huge Attic. It is 22’x18,’ has wall-to-wall carpet, a ceiling fan and a huge walk-in closet and you have to see it to appreciate how great it is.
The description of this home cannot be completed without describing the fantastic lot it sits on and its stamped concrete patio that surrounds absolutely gorgeous built-in heated pool with a working waterfall and a diving board! The mature trees including a bunch of blooming dogwoods and landscaping make this home worth seriously considering especially at it’s bargain price!
With newer windows with storm windows throughout; a 5-yr-old 30+ yr roof; a basement with an outdoor entrance; great yard with a 6' vinyl fence and an oversized 2-Car Detached Garage with a Loft that can be another room or two - need I say more?
